They met purely by chance on a summer day in 2010 at The Melting Pot in Poughkeepsie, NY as Mark was entering the restaurant, hoping to land a job. Mark held the door open for Kelly as she was leaving, confident from her successful interview. They passed by each other with no idea what the future would hold. The more they worked together, the more apparent it was that they were meant to be. During late night shifts and rendezvous at local diners, they ended up falling in love.
Less than two years later they decided to pick up their lives and move down south, not knowing if Charleston, SC would welcome them with open arms. After months of uncertainty they both ended up with great jobs, a decent apartment, and a little boxer named Rocky.
One night when bucket lists and dinner drinks were flowing, the idea of exploring Europe became a reality. This trip would change their lives forever. After arriving at port in a small town called Santorini, Greece; riding donkeys to the top and having a very quiet lunch (Mark didn't talk much), they ended up in a quiet alcove with an amazing view of the Mediterranean and a dormant volcano. At that moment Mark decided to ask Kelly the most important question of her life and with a tearful, unwavering smile she couldn't have said "Yes" any faster.
